Antioch Speedway, Contra Costa Fairgrounds, Antioch. The Antioch Speedway has races every Saturday evening from late March through early October. Features Dirt Modifieds, Wingless Sprints, Super Stocks, Modified Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, BCRA Midgets, BCRA Lites and the California Sprint Car Civil War Series and runs under the All Pro Series.
Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve, 5175 Somersville Rd., Antioch. 925-757-2620. Black Diamond Mines is a 3,650 acre preserve with over thirty-four miles of trails and over 100 species of birds. Black Diamond Mines is well known for its coal mining and tours are available. Antioch Schools regularly take students on trips to its mines. Today the park is used for camping, picnicing, hiking, etc.
